"Come on" - Club of Rome sits in Wuppertal

Board meeting and preparation of another report

  • Events 02.06. - 04.06.2016

The time and place of the next meeting of the Club of Rome is not a coincidence: it takes place during the "Week for Sustainability" in Wuppertal. All three presidents of the Wuppertal Institute, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, - the professors Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker, Peter Hennicke and Uwe Schneidewind - are members of the Club of Rome. The Wuppertal staff members Dr. Maja Göpel and Dr. Wolfgang Sachs are also members of this exclusive club that unites scientists from all over the world. Besides the usual board meeting business, the preparation of a new Club of Rome report that is supposed to draw attention to the club again after the worldwide bestseller "Limits to Growth" from 1972 is part of the agenda. Both Co-Presidents of the club Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker and Anders Wijkman (Sweden) are lead authors of the new publication under the working title "Come On".

The Club of Rome and the Wuppertal Institute take this opportunity to host a panel discussion to present the project and to discuss aspects of a global and sustainable development (by invitation only).
