The Transition Period

The new issue of Carbon Mechanisms Review deals with the implementation period of the Paris Agreement ahead. Contributing authors take up the results of the intercessional meeting in Bonn in May and look at the tasks ahead on the road to Marrakech. Furthermore, they also take a renewed look at the question of sustainable development benefits, which has been given greater emphasis in Article 6. Further, ways for the Green Climate Fund are explored to make use of the Clean Development Mechanism and authors report on the support needs of Parties when combining the use of market mechanisms with Nationally Determined Contributions.
