Summary report published

  • News 18.10.2016

The Hungarian energy strategy, adopted in 2011, mainly focused on fossil fuels and nuclear power. But the frame conditions have changed by now: The South Stream Project is suspended, the EU has voiced concerns regarding the extension of nuclear reactors. The Summary Report presents alternative and sustainable energy scenarios for Hungary. The Wuppertal Institute and the Hungarian Climate Policy Institute Energiaklub, who recently published the report, developed long term energy scenarios on behalf of the Greens and the European Free Alliance in the European Parliament, providing sound information on the costs and long term effects of various energy alternatives, as well as information on the potential benefits of a greener energy mix.

The summary report is available for download below the project description.
