German Energiewende Tour

Manfred Fischedick tours through Canada

  • Events 24.10. - 27.10.2016

A high potential for renewables and a government supporting the shift towards sustainable resource consumption: Canada, especially its provincial governments, is re-thinking energy production and looks at the German Energiewende (energy transition) as role model. Prof. Dr. Manfred Fischedick, Vice President of the Wuppertal Institute, therefore tours through Canada from 24 to 27 October. The University of Calgary invited him and other prestigious scientists and practitioners to the "German Energiewende Tour" to discuss future pathways to a sustainable energy system with political decision-makers, scientists and interested individuals as well as dedicated businessmen and women. Manfred Fischedick will contribute a keynote to the ClimaCon Canada in Ottawa and hold a presentation on the German Energiewende at the University of Toronto.
