Role of Innovation and Policy to Catalyse Deep Decarbonisation of Energy Intensive Industries

Official side event during UN Climate Change Conference COP23 – from 16:45 to 18:15, Meeting Room 7, Bonn Zone

  • Events 11.11.2017

Deep decarbonisation of industry is relatively untapped. Higher energy efficiency as well as fundamental process changes are required. This session will assess options and implications for industry, policy and research, including new results from SEforALL’s Industrial Energy Efficiency Accelerator.

This side event offers a platform to discuss innovations that further promote and spread energy efficiency and advanced process changes in the raw materials industry. The discussion with international scientists as well as representatives from industry and governments will focus on how to better link these issues with international climate policy.

Speakers are Stefan Lechtenböhmer, Wuppertal Institute; Lars J. Nilsson, Lund University; Joyashree Roy, Javadpur University, India; Benoit Lebot, France; Tareq Emtairah, UNIDO; James Wilde, Carbon Trust, UK.
