Energy, Transport and Climate Policy

How do integrated policy strategies need to be shaped and implemented in order to achieve the goals of climate policy agreed in Paris in 2015 and an energy-efficient energy and transport system entirely based on renewable energies by 2050? This basic question is guiding our analyses of policy packages, individual instruments, actor constellations and policy processes in a polycentric governance.

Our policy strategies integrate energy, transport and climate policy. In this context, they consider the mutual interactions and synergy effects, the actor and power constellations, as well as the different levels of action: We develop and analyse strategies for the local, regional, national and international level. Policy instruments in the field of energy end-use efficiency are a particular focus area.

Overall, the Research Group Energy, Transport and Climate Policy is working on four main research themes.
