After having shifted his research focus to Berlin since already some time, Wolfgang Sachs was recently appointed head of the Wuppertal Institute's Berlin Office. This change became necessary as the previous director, Hermann E. Ott, is now member of the Federal German Parliament. As a branch of the Wuppertal Institute, the Berlin Office strengthens the research-based consulting that we provide for the world of policy. It also enhances our capacity to canvass for custom in the German capital. In addition, the Berlin Office promotes cooperation between the Wuppertal Institute and other academic and research institutions in Berlin.
