  • News 09.01.2015

The project CCS Chances evaluates the opportunities and limitations of Carbon Capture and Storage acceptance in Germany. This also icludes the analysis of the media coverage and the public perception of several CCS-projects. The analysis is carried out by a team of authors in two articles published in "Energy Procedia", which are available via ScienceDirect. In "Media Coverage of Four Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Projects in Germany" the authors examined 1115 regional newspaper articles. In "Public Perceptions of CO2 Offshore Storage in Germany" the authors focussed on regional differences in the German public with regard to awareness, knowledge, risk perceptions and general attitude on CCS. Katja Pietzner, Wuppertal Institute is a member of the team of authors for both articles; André Schwarz was involved in the newspaper analysis.
