How to Achieve Long-Term Transitions towards Full Decarbonisation

LCS-RNet report on 8th annual meeting published

  • News 08.11.2016

The LCS-RNet (Low Carbon Society Research Network) held its 8th annual meeting in Wuppertal in September. The content of the LCS-RNet's Annual Meeting 2016 was mainly determined by the international agreement reached at the COP21 in Paris in December 2015, as the international debate has shifted to the question of how to implement the agreement. Furthermore, decarbonision concepts and their financial instruments were discussed and useful impulses for German climate politics were generated and a beneficial framework for a global energy transition was developed.

The results of the conference were summed up in a report, which was handed over to the IPCC-Chair (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) Prof. Hoesung Lee on 1 November. Stefan Lechtenböhmer will also present the results at a side event of the COP22 in Marrakech.
