Extractivism in Canadian Tarsands and German Coal

How's the extractivism in Canadian Tarsands and German Coal linked up? What's the economic, political and social conflict situation and which agents are important?

These are some of the questions that will be discussed with Prof. Eric Pineault in the hall (Aula) of the Wuppertal Institute. Pineault is professor of sociology at the University of Québec at Montréal, Canada. His main areas of interest include financialisation, the historical sociology of money and economic institutions, the contradictions of advanced capitalism as well as the political economy of degrowth.

Furthermore, there will be two short presentations by Dr. Jochen Luhmann, Senior Expert at the Wuppertal Institute, and Tadzio Müller rom the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. The event will conclude in a discussion with the audience.
