On the occasion of the Bonn 2017 UN Climate Change Conference (6 - 17 November 2017), the Government of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in cooperation with EnergyAgency.NRW and Wuppertal Institute invite to the "NRW Climate Lounge", which will take place at Post-Tower in Bonn.
On nine evenings this event series will offer a daily update on the official UN negotiations and will highlight climate protection topics, which will be discussed with NRW-stakeholders from politics, science and business as well as with international guests. Each event will start with a daily summary of the UN negotiation process and latest developments by Wuppertal Institute, followed by the presentations and discussion rounds on the respective topic of the day.
The NRW Climate Lounge will take place from 6-9 November and from 13 – 17 November, always from 5 - 7 pm. After the session there will be the possibility of exchanging with fellow participants while enjoying some fingerfood (until 8 pm). At the start of the series of events on 6 November 2017, Ministerial Director Dr. Karsten Sach, Directorate-General KI, Climate Policy, European and International Policy of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), is expected to attend. State Secretary Jochen Flasbarth of the BMUB will be a guest at the closing event on 17 November 2017.
The following dates and events are being scheduled:
On 10 November there will not be a Climate Lounge event. Instead, the Government of North Rhine-Westphalia, EnergyAgency.NRW and Wuppertal Institute will offer a day-long event on "Deep Decarbonisation of Materials Processing Industries".
The evening events of the NRW Climate Lounge address stakeholders from society, policy, science and business in NRW and other regions as well as delegates and observers of COP23, media representatives as well as the interested public from Bonn and NRW.
