The Global Conference on Environmental Taxation (GCET) has been held every year since 2000 as an international meeting of specialists and as a forum for the exchange of ideas and research findings on environmental taxation and other market-based instruments designed to protect the environment and foster sustainability. This year's conference focuses on the topic "Innovation Addressing Climate Change Challenges: Local and Global Perspectives".

Nicolas Kreibich, Research Fellow in the Research Group Energy, Transport and Climate Policy at the Wuppertal Institute, present the paper "Cooperative climate action under the Paris Agreement: Accounting for diversity while preserving environmental integrity".
