Gender Mainstreaming and Gender Impact Assessment in Environmental and Health Protection

Conference of the gender equality officer of the German Environment Agency in Berlin

The conference is devoted to encouraging international exchange of experiences with gender mainstreaming implementation in research as well as in the practice of public administration.

Meike Spitzner, project co-ordinatior of the Research Group Energy, Transport and Climate Policy at the Wuppertal Institute, will present together with Dr. Immanuel Stieß and Dr. Diana Hummel from the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE) interdependent gender aspects in climate policies. The speech and the included roundtable will give an overview of the ongoing research project "Gender Equality as Contribution to a Successful Climate Policy", first results of the status quo and considerations concerning a conceptual refinement of gender impact assessment in the climate sector.
