Circular Materials Conference - Game Changer und Disruptors

Conference about the industrial and scientific progress in the circular use of materials in Sweden

  • Events 07.03. - 08.03.2018

Under the motto "Game Changers and Disruptors/ Industrial and Scientific Progress in the Circular Use of Materials" the Circular Materials Conference in the Chalmers Conference Centre will take place in Goteborg, Sweden. The two-day forum provides a platform for exchange and discussion with regard to the challenges of transformation from a linear system to a circular. The event is addressed to interested stakeholders from industry, finance, business and society.

As part of the event and in cooperation with EIT RawMaterials Ltd (European Institute of Innovation and Technology RawMaterials Ltd), an environmental agency for renewable and natural resources, researchers from the Wuppertal Institute organise a two-hour breakout-session on 7 March on the topics of "Reuse" and "Remanufacturing". Susanne Fischer, Research Unit Circular Economy at the Wuppertal Institute, will present the final results of the projects RUN and ReUK as well as the recently started project RemanPath.
All three projects aim to the creation of learning and workshop material for businesses on the topics "ReUse" and "Remanufacturing", even though the projects have different prioritisation: So far, small and medium-sized businesses, who want to be informed and further educated in this field, are hardly able to resort to existing training modules. Currently the remanufacturing quote amounts to merely two per cent in Europe, although activities in this sector are attributed with a sales potential of 100 billion euros until 2030.

Susanne Fischer organises a breakout session for the conference entitled "Innovation Deep Dive 1,3A: Reuse and Remanufacturing". Further information about the conference and about the projects can be found under the following links.
