Sustainable Mobility Planning

Cities Workshop in Tampere, Finland

  • Events 13.03.2018

With more than 70 per cent of EU citizens living in urban areas, the way in which urban mobility is organised has a major impact on the quality of life in cities. The shift towards sustainable mobility requires a change in integrated mobility planning with the aim of avoiding transport and shifting it to more sustainable modes of transport.

As part of the SUMPs-Up project (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan), the Wuppertal Institute is organising a city workshop in Tampere, Finland, on 13 March 2018. The workshop aims to strengthen peer-to-peer exchange and mutual learning between participating cities in sustainable urban mobility planning.
Stefan Werland, Shritu Shrestha, Santhosh Kodukula (Research Unit Mobility and International Cooperation, Wuppertal Institute), and Thorsten Koska (Division Energy, Transport and Climate Policy, Wuppertal Institute) will organise the workshop and conduct expert interviews.
