The International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) is a global, independent and non-profit organisation whose work is focused on promotion and development of sustainable and professional waste management. The annual congress will be held in Kuala Lumpur and will focus on the socio-economic impacts of waste recycling and reductions as well as health, safety and policy regulations relating to recycling and climate change.

The Director of Wuppertal Institute's Division Circular Economy, Dr. Henning Wilts, will participate with two papers about “Improving Plastics Recycling through a Digital Value Chain-Based Approach“ and "Effective Reuse Policies and Infrastructures – Experiences from 32 EU Waste Prevention Programmes".
