The next world climate conference, COP24, will take place from 2 to 14 December 2018 in Katowice, Silesia, Poland. The Voivodeship Silesia and the State Governments of Hauts-de-France, and North Rhine-Westphalia have a close relationship for many years and a vivid exchange on both the political and administrative level in the so called "Weimar Triangle". The structural similarities of all three regions are remarkable – they are characterised by a strong coal and steel industry heritage and are today facing structural change, striving for the best way to shape the future for their territories.
On the occasion of COP24 in Katowice, the regions seize the opportunity to join forces for an event series on an important area of their cooperation: climate protection and economic development. Partners for the events are the Wuppertal Institute and the EnergyAgency.NRW.
