The international forum "The Cities of Tomorrow" to promote Low Carbon City (LCC) development will be held in Beijing, China on 4-6 December 2018. The forum will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences based on the ongoing pilot city experiences and international best practices. The forum will tackle cross-sectoral approaches, integrated planning, and emerging issues such as transforming old industrial towns into modern, livable, low carbon cities, as well as, a range of innovative tools for climate smart development. The event will engage multiple stakeholders including civil society, policy-makers. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is hosting the forum.

On 4 December 2018, Prof. Dr. Manfred Fischedick, Vice-President of the Wuppertal Institute, will give a keynote during the opening plenary. Manfred Fischedick will also participate in the panel discussion "From Dirt to Smart, Transforming Cities through Low Carbon Development". The moderated panel discussion will will look into on-the-ground experiences on promoting Low Carbon Development in Transforming Cities.
