A Second LIFE for Critical Raw Materials

Explore how we can work together to increase the recovery of critical raw materials from WEEE

  • Events 20.02.2019
  • Location London, England

An interactive, innovative and informative programme has been designed to both celebrate the successes of the "CRMRecovery" project and to discuss the way forward towards increased Critical Raw Material (CRM) recovery targets. Themes include:

  • How can the collection and recovery of CRMs from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) be increased?
  • How are businesses, funding bodies and research organisations approaching these challenges across Europe?
  • How do we work together to establish an effective supply chain?

Delegates will learn about the CRM Recovery project’s collaborative collection and recovery trials across the UK, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic. Furthermore, there will be presentations and discussions regarding the project's policy and infrastructure recommendations, plus EU policy perspectives from the European Commission. Businesses, funding bodies and research organisations with an interest in the recovery of valuable CRMs are invited to attend.

The results of the three-year project "CRMRecovery" will be presented at the conference. In this project, the Wuppertal Institute has worked on a package which Dr. Henning Wilts, Head of the Circular Economy Division at the Wuppertal institute, will present in a presentation at the conference.
