CIVITAS Forum Conference 2019

Annual conference

  • Events 02.10. - 04.10.2019
  • Location Graz, Austria

The CIVITAS Forum Conference 2019 will be held in Graz, Austria, from 2-4 October 2019. The 17th edition of Europe's top sustainable urban mobility event will gather the leading figures in the field from across the continent and beyond. This varied group of city representatives, practitioners, policymakers and academics will debate and analyse the most pressing mobility topics and witness the pioneering solutions bringing cleaner, better transport to Europe.

One of the foci of the conference is on providing support to sustainable and active cities within the SUMP context. During the conference, the European Commission will officially publish the updated SUMP guidelines. Since their launch in 2013, the guidelines have become the main reference for the development of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) and have been adopted in cities widely across Europe. The guidelines are updated to reflect recent trends in mobility, technology and society. The Wuppertal Institute has contributed to these guidelines. Among other things, Dr. Frederic Rudolph (Research Unit Mobility and International Cooperation, Division Energy, Transport and Climate Policy at the Wuppertal Institute) has developed a Topic Guide on "Public procurement of sustainable urban mobility measures“. In this context, Dr Rudolph will moderate a thematic session on “Procurement and management of municipal fleets".

Attending the event is free of charge. Further information can be found under the link below.
