The 12th Intergovernmental Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum in Asia with the theme "Achieving Smart and Resilient Cities through Low-Carbon and Intelligent Transport System", co-organised by the United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD) will take place from 28 to 31 October 2019 in Hanoi, Viet Nam. The Wuppertal Institute is among the supporting organisations of the event. The Urban Pathways project team will co-organise pre-events/workshops and has invited mayors from Urban Pathways partner cities (Lalitpur/Kathmandu, Nepal and Pasig, Philippines) to be a part of Mayors EST Policy Dialogue and carry out knowledge sharing and city twinning activities.

The EST forum aims to provide policy, technological, and institutional insights to Asian countries and cities to advance low carbon and intelligent transport system development and achieve international agendas and agreements through transformational changes in urban development. On 28 October, Santhosh Kodukula, Project Co-ordinator in the Mobility and International Cooperation Research Unit in the Energy, Transport and Climate Policy Division at the Wuppertal Institute, will moderate a session on "Green Mobility Options for Socioeconomic Benefits" and give a presentation on the same topic.
