Science-Community Engagement Practices for the Future

The SciShops Symposium will take place on 30 to 31 January 2020 in Brescia, Italy. The event will be held at the University of Brescia and provide a platform for skills development, knowledge exchange and networking within the field of Science Shops and community-based participatory research (CBPR). A total of ten institutions from the project consortium took up the challenge of setting up their own science shop of this approach and presented their state of development. In interactive workshops the participants critically reflect on the topics and formats in the context of CBPR.

During the conference, Markus Kühlert, Research Fellow in the Production and Consumption Systems Research Unit in the Sustainable Production and Consumption Division at the Wuppertal Institute, will lead the workshop "From Community-based participatory research to sustainability innovations". He will also present the state of development of the Wuppertal Institute's Science Shop, which is part of the Institute's Innovation Labs Research Unit.

The Symposium is organised by the Horizon 2020 SciShops project consortium. All the sessions will be held in English. Further information can be found under the links below.
