Earth Hour 2020: Wuppertal Institute participates in global environmental protection campaign

  • News 27.03.2020

Whether it is the Sydney Opera House, the Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong or the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin: worldwide from 8.30 to 9.30 pm on 28 March 2020, public squares and landmarks, numerous buildings and millions of private households will switch off their lights. The Wuppertal Institute also participates in the campaign and switches off the lights for one hour on that date. Together with millions of people around the world the Institute wants to set a strong signal for the environmental protection of the living planet.

The "Earth Hour" is a major climate and environmental protection campaign which is taking place for the fourteenth time this year. The campaign was initiated by one of the largest international nature and environmental organisations, the WWF. This year, the WWF is appealing to all political decision-makers: "It's time to act - for a living planet!"
