European Commission's Urban Mobility Days Conference in 2020 will be held as a fully digital event from 29 September to 2 October 2020. The conference combines two leading events from Europe’s transport calendar: the CIVITAS Forum Conference and the European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs).
The Urban Mobility Days will allow policymakers, local authorities, academics, urban planners and all those putting the SUMP concept into practice to share their experiences using a virtual forum and to learn more about sustainable urban mobility success stories.

As part of this virtual forum, Dr. Frederic Rudolph, Senior Researcher of the Mobility and International Cooperation Research Unit in the Energy, Transport and Climate Policy Division at the Wuppertal Institute, will moderate the session "Data-driven decision-making tools for small and medium-sized cities". The session aims to present the benefits of collecting real traffic data and the vast possibilities of data analysis as a tool of improving mobility and transport in cities and will take place on 1 October 2020 from 10.30 to 11.30 am.
The participants will also discuss the usability of the technologies for data collection, which have been developed in the CIVITAS SUITS research project, and the benefits that these technologies could provide to the small-medium cities for designing and implementing sustainable mobility measures based on scientific evidence. The attendees will get familiar with efficient and cheap technologies to collect data in the city and differentiate between freight vehicles and conventional vehicles on the cities.

Attending the event is free of charge. Further information on the event and the registration can be found under the following link.
