Öko-faire Preise im Welthandelsregime

Wasser - natürliche Ressource, Handelsware und Menschenrecht

  • Publications 04.03.2008

Prices for natural resources are situated between ecology and fairness. On the one hand, the introduction and increase of prices serves nature conservation because they reduce the demand of resources. On the other hand, they menace to cut off poor sections of the population from the use of vital goods, such as water. This paper deals with this alleged antagonism and shows how prices could be designed in a fair and social way.
