On the sixth annual meeting of the International Research Network for Low Carbon Societies (LCS-RNet) in Rome, Italy in October 2014, a wide range of discussion on four key issues that are at the forefront of the climate change debate was presented: (1) integration of climate policies with the more traditional policies in the energy sector, (2) climate mitigation and resource efficiency improvement nexus, (3) securing adequate financing for mitigation and adaptation activities, and (4) strengthening international collaboration.

The meeting was co-hosted by Italy's National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA). ENEA now published an "Energia, Ambiente e Innovazione - Speciale 2015" with contributions of LCS-RNet members covering the meetings issues. Contributions by Wuppertal Institute's staff members include articles on the role storage in a renewable energy system, on electricity-based decarbonisation, on the communication of energy effiency's benefits and on the participatory process to a low-carbon economy in the German federal state of NRW.

The EAI Speciale 2015 is available for download.
