Times of crisis can lead to further consolidation, optimalisation and rethinking business. Resilient, green and connected supply chains and hinterland logistics products are needed and the pandemic makes this demand even more urgent. The logistics sector requires creativity, collaboration and digitalisation to grow sustainably and take new opportunities. These topics will be discussed at the digital Ports & Hinterland Europe 2021 conference.

The European Conference on the future of inland transport, terminals and ports takes place on 2 March 2021, planned as a strategic session and 4 March 2021, being an in-depth session. On the second day of the conference at 2:30 pm Prof. Dr. Stefan Lechtenböhmer, Director of the Future Energy and Industry Systems Division at the Wuppertal Institute, holds a lecture on "Ports as Clean Energy Hubs". In the closing debate on the Energy Transition, he and further experts will discuss how to reach the goals and ambitions of the Green Deal, what will be the energy mix of the future, CO2 storage or re-use and if hydrogen can decarbonise the entire port ecosystem.
