The European Forum Alpbach conference format will take place from 18 August to 3 September, 2021. The overall theme of the conference will be "The Great Transformation" and will be divided into three sub-categories: "Securing our Future", "The Climate Opportunity" and "The Financing of Europe's Future". On various days, the focus will be on aspects such as art and culture, health or technology.
Among other guests, Prof. Dr. Stefan Lechtenböhmer, Director of the Future Energy and Industry Systems Division at the Wuppertal Institute, will participate in a breakout session at the European Forum Alpbach on 26 August, 2021, as part of the Technology Focus. In particular the participants will discuss on "Fridays for Future and Thursdays for Research? Applied Research for 'The Great Transformation'" the role of applied research in the great transformation. What is needed for the transformation? What is the role for research and technology organisations? What is the role of companies? How can politics and funding agencies put the right framework conditions in place?
The breakout session with Prof. Dr. Stefan Lechtenböhmer will take place at Böglerhof in Alpbach on 26 August, 2021, from 14.00 to 17.00 pm and will be broadcast live online. Depending on the current Corona situation, the event will be adjusted if necessary.
