GJETC: 1st Stakeholder Dialogue

The German-Japanese Energy Transition Cooperation Council (GJETC), with a special focus on energy solutions and policies that are consistent with climate change mitigation commitments while being compatible with energy security, social well-being, and international economic competitiveness, strives to promote binational exchanges between researchers working on energy issues related to Japan and/or Germany. 

On this occasion, the GJETC invites young scientists under the age of 40 to the "1st Stakeholder Dialogue with Young Scientists" event on 1 September, 2021, entitled "Increasing the Ambition Level of Climate Change Mitigation – New Challenges and Opportunities for International Cooperation on the Energy Transition". The young scientists are invited to present their research activities and/or provide input for comparative analyses in the context of the energy transition in Germany and Japan. Current research priorities of the GJETC will also be presented and discussed during the events.

On the German side, the Wuppertal Institute supports the Council's work as scientific secretariat, on the Japanese side, the Institute of Energy Economics (IEEJ), Japan, takes over this task, while Prof. Dr. Peter Hennicke, Senior Advisor at the Wuppertal Institute, and his Japanese colleague Prof. Masakazu Toyoda act as co-chairs of the GJETC.
