Energy-efficient renovation of existing housing is one of the most important solutions for reducing energy poverty. Often, those who struggle to meet their energy needs live in inadequately insulated housing with low energy efficiency.

On 7 December 2021, 12.30 to 13.10 (CET), the third ENPOR Lunch Talk  will explore why and how minimum energy performance standards could help mitigate energy poverty, particularly in the private rental sector. Among other things, this involves, which elements of the "Fit-for-55" package might be useful for agencies to support the housing revolution. This will be discussed by Louise Sunderland (Regulatory Assistance Project), Hélène Sibileau (Building Performance Institute Europe), Emmanuelle Causse and Emil Martini (International Union of Property Owners), Ina Karova (Energy Agency Plovdiv) und Zita Kakalejcikova (Habitat for Humanity International).

The ENPOR project is accompanied by the Wuppertal Institute as project partner and addresses measures to reduce energy poverty in the private rental sector. Within the project, the Wuppertal Institute supports the further development of two energy poverty measures in Germany: the innovative prepaid meter model of "EnergieRevolte" and the extension of the electricity saving check program (Caritas) to the heating sector. In addition, researchers of the Wuppertal Institute develop strategies to engage stakeholders for collaborative (further) policy development (co-creation).

Participation in the ENPOR Lunch Talk is free of charge. The registration is possible via the link below.
