eceee 2022: Summer Study on Energy Efficiency

This year, the "eceee 2022 Summer Study" focuses on the people and forces that are agents of change. It covers a broad range of topics from energy consumption and behaviour, over policy & evaluation, to local energy planning, transportation, buildings, and appliance and product policy. The event will take place from 6 to 11 June 2022 in Hyères (southern France), and offers five intense days of presentations in nine panels as well as sessions, solutions workshops and plenary talks. 

Prof. Dr. Stefan Lechtenböhmer (Director of the Future Energy and Industry Systems Division of the Wuppertal Institute) co-chairs panel 9 "Deep decarbonisation of industry" with Dr. Marlene Arens, Senior Manager Association Affairs at HeidelbergCement. The panel deals with technologies, strategies and implications to get on track to carbon neutrality for policy, industry and research. It discusses how technologies for a climate-neutral primary industry can be implemented and what potential there is for industrial change in energy and raw material efficiency.

Additionally, five researchers from the Wuppertal Institute's Energy Policy Research Unit will present their abstracts on energy issues during the event.
Together with co-author Dr. Stefan Thomas (Director of the Energy, Transport and Climate Policy Division) Sriraj Gokarakonda will present the abstract "Harnessing Energy Performance Certificates for Deep Energy Renovation: Policy recommendations and evidence from testing". The Researcher Florin Vondung will present his article "Shining a light on energy poverty in the European privately rented sector". The abstract "Beyond energy savings – quantifying the multiple impacts of energy efficiency improvements" will be explained by the Senior Researcher Dr. Chun Xia-Bauer. Furthermore, Lotte Nawothnig will present her paper "Secondary school student participation in Carbon Footprint Assessment for Schools".
