The German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt, UBA) will host the 6th European Resource Forum (ERF) "Transformative Approaches to Sustainable Resource Use and a Circular Economy". The English-language conference will take place on 1 December 2022. The event will be held as a virtual conference. Up to 700 participants including 90 speakers from over 50 countries are expected.

The ERF will be complemented by several German-language sessions focusing on aspects of sustainable resource use in Germany. Christa Liedtke, Director of the Sustainable Production and Consumption Research Division at the Wuppertal Institute, will moderate the panel session 7 on "design, circularity and sustainable resource use" at 10.45 together with Barbara Schmidt (Kunsthochschule Weißensee) and Mareike Gast (Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle). At the same time, Dr. Henning Wilts, Director of the Circular Economy Research Division at the Wuppertal Institute, will discuss the topic of "resource efficiency and national circular economy strategy" at panel session 6. In dialogue, he will exchange views with Dr. Harald Bajorat (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection), Silke Düwel-Rieth (World Wide Fund For Nature Germany), and Annika Stuckenhoff (Initiative Circular Economy of the Federation of German Industries).
