This year, the Innovate4Climate conference will take place in Berlin for the first time – with a clear focus on carbon markets and carbon pricing. The cover feature of the new issue of Carbon Mechanisms Review therefore sheds light on the current market landscape and presents innovative trends, both with regard to national carbon pricing instruments as well as carbon crediting mechanisms worldwide.
In addition, the authors explore the questions of when to expect the first Article 6.4ER issuances and how countries and stakeholders in Eastern Africa can create a favourable environment to best prepare for the introduction of the carbon market.
Last but not least, this Carbon Mechanisms Review issue kicks off a a new discussion series on the question of whether REDD+ forest conservation projects should be eligible for use in international carbon market programmes under Article 6. The first part of the series comes from the Coalition for Rainforest Nations (CfRN). Further contributions with different perspectives are planned for the next issues – the CMR authors warmly invite colleagues to express their interest in joining in on the debate.
The new Carbon Mechanisms Review is available to download free of charge via the following link. An overview of all previously published issues and a subscription are also available free of charge.
