Launch Event: Digitalisation of Circular Business Models

As part of the "Digitalization for Circular Economy" (D4CE) impact initiative, Dr. Holger Berg, Vice Director of the Circular Economy Research Division and Co-Head of the Digital Transformation Research Unit at the Wuppertal Institute, and Natalia Dziergwa from the UN Environment Programme present the technical paper "Digitalization of Circular Business Models. Digital solutions enabling the transition towards circular economy". In it, the authors identifiy the opportunities for circular economy business models that globally arise from the digital transformation – and back these insights with concise case studies from different regions.

Following the presentation of the paper, four spotlight sessions on "business cases in action" are on the agenda:

• Digital Sharing Platform by Hello Tractor
• SaaS Platform for Digital Product Passports by Tracesurfer
• The Surpluss Platform
• Digital Waste Management and Take-back Program by Resourcify

This will be followed by a panel discussion on "Bridging Business Innovation and Global Agendas" with Mariano Pineyrua from Tracesurfer, Felix Heinricy from Resourcify, Rana Hajirasouli from The Surpluss Platform, Quinta Onditi from Hello Tractor and Anna Huber from the World Economic Forum.
