ALTBAUNEU

The target of the service platform for regional initiatives of old buildings "ALTBAUNEU" was facilitating a state-wide know-how transfer between municipalities and regional initiatives and networks, which are involved in climate-related activities in the building sector. Another target of the project is to minimise the work and cost efforts of the municipalities and regional initiatives by providing transferable instruments for regional implementation (for example in the area of public relations, consultancy of building owners, background information). Eventually, the project aims at providing the possibility to respond to specific local particularities and offering an individually tailored range of services (e.g. professional consulting).
The involvement of all relevant stakeholders, handcraft, industry and financial institutions had the aim to insure a long term financing of the service platform. The Wuppertal Institute performed the screening of the climate protection measures of all the municipalities involved in AltBauNeu and evaluated the platform regarding its objectives, the state of implementation and impacts achieved.
