Reducing emissions in industry is one key challenge of the German Energy Transition and of the necessary transformation towards a low-carbon economy globally. Building on a previous study, in which we have identified best-practice examples for low-carbon industry innovations, this study focuses specifically on success factors of such innovations. So called "intermediare actors", enablers for networks and consultancy providers play a central role in promoting low-carbon innovations. The study also analysed the role of public support and regional networks to trigger and support innovations in industry, which reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
