Brief Study on the Effects of Covid-19 on Packaging Waste Prevention

  • Project no.352264
  • Duration 08/2020 - 09/2020

The aim of the study is to identify and outline the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on packaging waste prevention by means of expert interviews and a quantitative online survey. The study also discusses in which aspects the pandemic is an accelerator for emerging packaging related trends (e.g. food delivery services) and where it is slowing down packaging waste preventing developments (e.g. reusable packaging for takeaway food). Based on these analyses, it provides recommendations to strengthen packaging waste prevention both during the current crisis and in the long term.
