The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology commissioned the Wuppertal Institute and the BSR-Sustainablity GmbH to evaluate the "Programme for improving material efficiency". The results of the extensive evaluation give proposals on the further development of the "Programme for improving material efficiency". In particular, they make recommandations for the following points: VerMat und NeMat (application procedure / production rate /upper limit of funding promotion of duration, implementation, successes), consulting pool, public relations / Agenda Setting, German Material Efficiency Prize, advisor, master plan / finance scheme.
