The city of Mannheim would like to achieve climate neutrality as early as possible. In the energy framework study that the Wuppertal Institute prepared for Mannheim's municipal utilities, a scenario was developed with the goal of climate neutrality in 2050. The project that follows here now discusses options for achieving the goal earlier and develops the corresponding measures in a process with politics, administration, companies and other stakeholders.
The Wuppertal Institute designs, moderates, and accompanies the process in three steps:
- Definition of the time horizon for the goal of climate neutrality for the city of Mannheim and the relevant sectors with the scientific monitoring group.
- Decision on the objective and definition of the relevant fields of action within the framework of the steering group.
- Development of concrete measures with thematically staffed strategy groups for the Mannheim Climate Action Plan
