NKWS U+M

The German National Circular Economy Strategy (abbreviated NKWS, per its German name) was adopted on December 4, 2024. The NKWS U+M project supports the strategy's implementation, focusing on two workstreams: assisting in the identification and formulation of priority measures, and developing a monitoring system, including its application in an initial evaluation report.

Support for the implementation measures includes drafting proposals for prioritising actions and coordinating them with the relevant stakeholders. On this basis, the project team drafts an implementation roadmap and elaborates on selected measures in detail.

The development of the monitoring system for the NKWS entails establishing the system's framework, identifying indicators, refining indicators that are not yet ready for use, and calculating these indicators. The project objective is to produce a monitoring and evaluation report on the NKWS which, based on all identified and refined indicators, outlines the status of implementation and target achievement, as well as potential areas for further policy development.
