REACT

Supporting Research on Climate-Friendly Transport

  • Project no.3249
  • Duration 06/2009 - 05/2011

REACT has the important role to address climate friendly transport objectives by linking strategies for research and development in the transport area with European climate policies. Therefore, the project coordinates and supports the R&D work on climate-friendly (i.e., low-carbon) transport and CO2-reduced mobility at European level so as to avoid spillage of funding resources and to provide their meaningfull use relating to the mitigation of greenhouse emissions from transport.
The Wuppertal Institute's main tasks in this project are to

  • Illustrate transport/mobility technologies and their climate impact. The aim is to formulate recommendations how EC initiatives and programmes should be focused in order to reduce the carbon impact of transport most effectively
  • To develop a dissemination strategy. The project aims at engaging the widest audience possible on climate friendly transport research and on stimulating consultations for important research issues and funding initiatives.
