Adaptation to Climate Change in Urban Transport

  • Project no.2256
  • Duration 08/2009 - 10/2009

On behalf of the GTZ, the Wuppertal Institute developed a module for the GTZ's Sustainable Transport Sourcebook. The module 5f "Adapting Urban Transport to Climate Change" aims to raise awareness amongst decision-makers in developing cities. It provides an overview of potential climate change impacts on urban passenger transport and possible adaptation measures. The module further illustrates how adaptation to climate change can be integrated into urban transport planning and highlights synergies between mitigation and adaptation as part of sustainable urban development.
The module was presented and officially launched at a side event at COP 15 in Copenhagen.
The module can be downloaded for free at www.sutp.org after registration.
