Sustainable Regional Development Using Environment and Famlily Friendly Mobility as an Example

  • Project no.3251
  • Duration 08/2009 - 03/2012

The DBU-funded project, realised under the leadership of the TU Berlin, aimed at raising awareness of future challenges and opportunities in the field of mobility among families in rural areas as well as actors in rural regional development planning. The project also wanted to look for appropriate and sustainable communication concepts for environmentally and family-friendly mobility services. The task of the Wuppertal Institute was to compile the range of good practice examples of environmentally and family-friendly mobility services in short profiles and to give reasonable estimations of their contribution to environmental protection. Further information on social inclusion/exclusion and potential cost savings resulted in informative decision and argumentation support.
