Euro-Topten-Max - Maximising Topten Communication on Top Runner Products

  • Project no.3144
  • Duration 01/2012 - 12/2014

The core of the Euro-Topten-Max project is a consumer-oriented online search tool across 18 countries, which presents the most efficient products in various categories.
Key criteria are energy efficiency, impact on the environment, health and quality.
Euro-Topten-Max is transparent and independent from manufacturers and commercial suppliers. It mainly relies on labels (e.g. EU labels for household appliances), which are adapted and refined to the criteria for the project.
Euro-Topten-Max targets especially end-users though the platform also addresses trade, manufacturers and political stakeholders.
Results of the project can serve as a European reference for requirements on energy efficiency and thus as a basis for further directives. Furthermore, supporting programmes can be linked to it.
The Wuppertal Institute's task is to monitor and evaluate the success of the different European Euro-Topten-Max websites.
