The project supports GIZ in the conceptualisation and development of a monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) approach for a mitigation action proposal (MAP) on China's national urban transport policy. The project aims to provide a blueprint for MRV of national sustainable urban transport policies and programmes that could be used by other countries in the development and implementation of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs).
The activities are embedded in the project "Transfer of climate friendly transport technologies and measures (China) - TRANSfer China". One task of the TRANSfer project in China is to develop mitigation action proposals that could be developed into NAMAs - in China or in other countries. The MRV blueprint is reviewed by the international expert group on MRV of transport NAMAs, which has been initiated by the TRANSfer project.
