Scientifically Monitoring the Federal Government's Participation Process of the Mitigation Plan 2050

  • Project no.150415
  • Duration 03/2015 - 12/2016

Currently, the Federal Government of Germany develops a mitigation plan, which aims at guiding the transformational processes to reach the mitigation goals until 2050 and shape this process as main vehicle. Especially the intermediate mitigation goals, which will help realising the long-term mitigation goals, for after 2020 will be set in the plan, as well as highlighting the next concrete mitigation measurements in the context of the European goals and a broad dialogue process. Furthermore, a transparent monitoring process shall be installed.

The Wuppertal Institute organises this participation process of developing climate mitigation measurements together with the agency IFOK. Organisations, federal states and municipalities will work on and discuss these measurements in various ways of contribution and will then send their recommendations to the Federal Government of Germany.
