Planning the Efficient City

3rd European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans in Bremen

  • Events 12.04. - 13.04.2016

The 3rd European Conference on Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP) is organised by Eltis - The urban mobility observatory, the European Commission, the German Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure and the club Metropolregion Bremen-Oldenburg im Nordwesten e.V.

The SUMP conference dedicates the challenge "Planning the efficient city".

Alongside keynotes from international experts, participants can join working groups. The Wuppertal Institute organises the side event "SUMP goes global! Fostering two-way learning and exchange channels" within the working group "New Horizons: Anticipate future challenges, opportunities and trends in today's mobility planning". The side event is about the global challenge of sustainable urban mobility planning. Europe's SUMP concept has inspired planners on other continents. This leads in the question: What can we learn in Europe from other planning approaches? The session gathers examples from international exchange within the EU-funded SOLUTIONS project.
