Green Shift to Sustainability

Policy Brief on co-benefits and impacts of the energy transformation

  • News 04.05.2017

The Think20 (T20) is a network of research institutes and think tanks from the G20 countries. One of its key objectives is to provide research-based policy advice to the G20. As part of the Task Force "Climate Policy and Finance", Wuppertal Institute's Hermann Ott is one of the authors of a policy brief designed to inform stakeholders before the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany, in July. In "Green Shift to Sustainability: Co-Benefits & Impacts of Energy Transformation on Resource Industries, Trade, Growth, and Taxes", the authors advocate under lead author R. Andreas Kraemer (Centre for International Governance Innovation, CIGI) for a joint report of important organisations such as IRENA, IMF, OECD, the World Bank and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure. Such a report could offer a comprehensive analysis of the sweeping economic implications of the energy transition.

The policy brief is available for free download.
