After retiring from his teaching post at the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim, Professor Dr. Gerhard Scherhorn joined the Wuppertal Institut. From 1996 to 2005 he was Head of the working group New Models of Wealth, followed by the Sustainable Production and Consumption Division. Afterwards, he remained closely associated with the institute's work and inspired many scientists of all generations.
Until recently, Gerhard Scherhorn, a former member of the German Council of Economic Experts, provided crucial and groundbreaking contribution for an enlightened view of economics and society in the sustainability debate.
