On Friday, 20 July 2018, Professor Dr. Manfred Fischedick, Vice-President of the Wuppertal Institute, will moderate the session "Social Science" at the Humboldt-Kolleg "Research and Teaching in Environment and Climate Protection" in Shanghai and will hold a lecture on the topic "Energy System Transformation and Climate Change: Changes, Challenges and the Need for International Cooperation".

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation promotes academic cooperation between excellent scientists and scholars from Germany and abroad. Research fellows, awarded by the foundation, are given the opportunity to come to Germany to work on their own research project in cooperation with a host and collaborative partner. As an intermediary organisation for German foreign cultural and educational policy, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation promotes international cultural dialogue and academic exchange. The Humboldt-Kolleg grants an in-depth exchange of former fellows, who now work in a responsible position, and other international scientists.

During his visit in China Professor Dr. Manfred Fischedick will give a public lecture, on Tuesday, 24 July 2018 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Beijing Institute of Technology and will engage in cooperation talks. The main focus will be on the exchange of experience in the transformation of the energy system.
